When I stepped out of the bedroom this morning after getting dressed my husband said, “Hello, my vampire princess.” Ha! Well, it is almost Halloween.
This is by far one of my girliest shirts. I love the dramatic puff sleeves and stand up collar. The sheer part is made of a stiff organza material that doesn’t get floppy, even after washing. It’s quite a statement, which is why I like to keep everything else simple with black straight leg jeans, ballet flats, and a thin gold bangle. Anything more and I think I really would start to look like a vampire princess. However, I’m open to suggestions. I’ve had some people comment that they think the top is too dressy for jeans. What do you all think? Is it really too dressy? What other ways could I wear this?
The blouse is Anne Fontaine, the jeans are Express, the bangle was a gift from my in-laws, and the shoes are Me Too.

Cute! I still need to get me an AF blouse.
I don’t think it’s too dressy for jeans – love it!
too dressy for jeans? not those jeans! maybe if you were trying to rock it with some ripped up, paint stained ones it would be inappropriate. i’d like to see it tucked into a pencil skirt or full skirt (could be cotton or denim to keep the look informal).
Thank you, Sarah, Shiny and Mariel!
It looks great with jeans, ignore anyone who says otherwise!
You could also pair it with a nice pair of wide-legged trousers, or a pencil skirt or really, just about anything.
I think it’s perfect for jeans–I’d wear it in exactly the same way.
What about wearing a vest over it? Maybe some charcoal gray pants & a simple gray freshwater pearl or hemmatite necklace…I think you could do a lot of different looks with it. Very nice!
Thanks Kristen, Brianna and JewelryGirl! I’m loving all the suggestions of new ways to wear this blouse.
