Temperatures rose well above 90 degrees today, and it was humid. I wore a skirt and lightweight knit top, mainly because they are easily machine washable. When it’s hot outside, I usually like to keep it simple, although months of that can get kind of boring. If it had been a little cooler, I would have popped a denim jacket over the outfit, which I think would have been more interesting, but it just wasn’t meant to be today. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for cooler weather in the near future–I’m tired of my summer clothing, and really in the mood to sport some sweaters and boots!
The skirt is Odille, the top is Express, and the shoes are Me Too. I got the ring for seven bucks in Gruene, Texas at a cute little boutique. Three of my friends and I met there for an afternoon of eating, shopping and chatting, so wearing the ring always cheers me up because I look at it and remember that day.

Beautiful outfit! I especially love the skirt. Wish I could incorporate more skirts into my daily outfits, but they alway seem uncomfortable to wear around the office. But it looks great on you
I really like your pops of color in an otherwise simple outfit. … And we missed you yesterday
Thanks Maddy and Shannon!
Maddy, are skirts uncomfortable for you because they just feel uncomfortable to wear, or because you feel overdressed in a skirt?
Shannon, I missed you guys too! Darn midterms.
You look great! And my little finds in Gruene remind me of our fun day, too.
I work in a corporate environment, so skirts are not necessarily overdressing. However, I do a lot of bending, lifting, walking etc… So for me, they don’t seem to be functional. There are some girls that wear killer pencil skirts with heels, but I’m not sure how they manage! I’m more of a flats and trousers girl. But that’s just me, I rarely pick fashion over comfort.
That makes sense, Maddy.
