Woo hoo! Last week of school before finals, and I can’t wait! I have a huge stack of books waiting to be read. I almost can’t remember what reading for fun is like.

Today was cold and rainy, so I wore my red trench and a coral scarf while I was outside. I also decided I need to pick up two winter weight sweaters, now that’s it’s getting fairly chilly. Weather here is so unpredictable in the winter, one week is warm, the next is cold. If it’s anything like last year, two should be enough.

The cardigan is from J. Crew, the ruffle knit top is from Banana Republic Outlet, the jeans are Citizens of Humanity and the shoes are Me too.

As you can see, I really love stripes. I was doing laundry yesterday and all my striped tops were in the wash at the same time, and I realized just how many I actually have. It’s seven, not including zebra striped items. Plus a striped skirt….maybe I’ll hold off on buying any more stripes for a while.

I’ve been brainstorming outfits for the “Week of Dresses and Skirts” challenge next week. I have built up a pretty good skirt and dress collection over the past year. I’m really looking forward to it, I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. Any ideas or suggestions for me?

The jeans are Citizen of Humanity, ring is from Harold’s, the striped top is from Talbots, the sleeveless ruffled blouse (layered under the top) and cardigan are J. Crew, and the shoes are Me Too.

Last week, I went shopping at a local consignment shop with my friend Sarah. She is the Grand Master of thrift store and consignment shopping. She always manages to find the most fabulous, high quality (often designer) pieces on her adventures, and they are always a steal. One day I will find out her secret, and when I do, I will post it here. I picked up these shoes and tunic on our latest foray. The shoes really make the outfit. The heel is low, and they are fairly comfortable (as far as heels go). It’s not really practical to wear these to school, because I definitely don’t think they are 8 our walking shoes, but they are great for work or meeting friends. Get ready to see a lot more of them in future outfits.

Shoes are Miu Miu, tunic is LA Made. Jeans are Citizen of Humanity “Elson” and belt is Express.
